Rome is home. Ten years ago I lugged my suitcase through the streets of this city for hours looking for the apartment I would call home.
Today with Greece still on the brain, I returned to realize what fun nostalgia could be. We often want to leave the past in the past in order to keep our eyes on the prize, but it’s pretty cool to look back and see how much you’ve grown.
The photo is a picture of an average, dusty, neighborhood supermarket. It looks like an upscale deli by American standards doesn’t it? Here, even regular people eat like princes.
People love Italy before they ever touch the ground. My next ten days is a homecoming for me, but I also want to make sure you experience the sights and tastes of the city. I want to inspire you to come on your own and truly fall in love like I did so many years ago.
