A red, hot-air-balloon crisscrossing through the sky was my first glimpse of this strange location.
I’ve never been here before, and I’m scared to death but also quite proud.
My route started as a solo trip around the world, but the journey to this particular location started many years ago in the forests of suburban New England where I grew up. All those years as a nanny and teacher had their hand in this too and yet I’m still surprised.
Today I landed on page 100 of my children’s novel.
Until now, I had no idea I’d been headed here all along, but the compulsion that drives me to do this work and inspire more solo journeys from little New England girls is now undeniable.
And so, no matter where I’m physically located in the world, I will be inside this creation for the foreseeable future. I look forward to welcoming you in.
